Dr JS Moroka choose local pipe Manufacturer Fiberpipe to Increase Water Capacity in Kameelrivier
The Weltevreden Project, to the value of R2.3million, has been awarded to Fiberpipe to supply 3405m FLOWTITE GRP Pipes as well as several fittings. This is a project implemented by Nkangala District Municipality to increase the capacity of potable water in the Dr JS Moroka Municipality for the Kameelrivier area.
Dr. J S Moroka Local Municipality is located in the western region of the Nkangala district Municipality and borders Gauteng Province to the south-west and Limpopo Province to the north. The Siyabuswa cluster has approximately 38 villages with communities dispersed within the cluster. This area is of great importance to the Ndebele culture and their traditional way of life is practiced here. The largest part of the local municipality belongs to the State and/or tribal authorities
The 3.4km DN250 PN25 SN10000 pipeline is being installed to extend the water to the Kameelrivier B area by laying a new GRP pipeline from the Weltevreden Treatment Plant to the Kameelrivier Reservoir. 98% of the pipeline is completed with full delivery of the GRP pipes to site.
The characteristics of GRP pipes had a big influence in the specification of GRP for the Weltevreden project . Some of these characteristics include the high pressure resistance of the pipes along with their technical characteristics. Ease of installation as well as the additional on site field services support added great value to the product.
